Rev. Bessie Furr

Rev. Micheal K. Merideth, Sr.
Associated Minister
Reverend Bessie Furr is a native of Emerson, Georgia; however she currently resides in Cartersville, Georgia with her husband, Deacon James Furr. She is a mother and a grandmother. She was educated in the Bartow County School system and joined Damascus Baptist Church at a young age. Reverend Furr came to know Christ Jesus in early adulthood and attributes a vast amount of biblical teaching from Pastor Pete Smith at The House of Liberty Church, where her relationship grew deeper with God.
Reverend Furr later joined the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Although receiving her call to the gospel ministry several years prior, it was not until “2000” that she accepted this call and was licensed by Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Robert E. Brown. She is proud to serve on the Ministerial Staff of Zion Hill and was ordained under the guidance and leadership of the Rev. Dr. Frank W. Johnson, Jr. on October 2nd, 2008.
Reverend Furr wants all persons to become a part of the church for the purpose of building relationships and growing closer to the Lord on a daily basis. She is deeply passionate about living a life of Praise & Worship, accompanied with having a strong prayer life. Just like the song says; Praise Is What I Do, she continues to exemplify this attitude in her continual work for the Lord.
In addition to her ministerial duties which include Preaching and Teaching, Reverend Furr’s activities include; Head of the Zion Hill Praise Team, Co-facilitator of the Women’s Bible Study, Member of the Mass Choir, Member of an Intercessory Team, Pastor’s Aide Ministry, and The Nursing Home Ministry.

Rev. Michael Merideth is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, born June 30,1964 to the late Harold J. Merideth and (living) Majorine E. Grant, both of Atlanta Georgia.
Rev. Marideth was raised in a Christian home with unending love and reverence to our Lord Jesus Christ. He attended Tuskegee Institute (University) on a tennis scholarship and completed graduate studies at Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camellia, Georgia earning both a Masters and Doctorate Degree in Pastoral Theology.
He has worked professionally for 30-plus years as a Business Manager in the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry and currently function in a bi-vocational career in both industry and ministry.
He is married to his college sweetheart, Nancy Taylor Merideth from Staunton, Virginia, whom he met while at Tuskegee. They are blessed with two Christian children, Michael k. Merideth II of New Orleans, and Ashia V. Merideth Lewis of Cleveland, Ohio, as well as a Godly favoured son-in-law, Mr. Frankie Lewis who models fatherly patience and love for the Merideth’s precious granddaughters, Zoey and Layah.
Prior to joining Zion Hill, Rev. Merideth served humbly served the Kingdom of God in the capacity of layman, usher, youth director, deacon, and ordained minister. His sincere passion and love for Christ is the essence and constitution for the unspeakable joy that he gives as he serves the Body of Christ in the capacity of a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Rev Merideth is deeply passionate and committed to preaching the gospel, teaching the saints of God, and evangelizing to the spiritual lost for which God has entrusted him to do.
Keeping the commandments of Jesus with the obedience as a Servant Leader is his fervent life mission until his divine appointment when he is called to meet our Lord and Saviour face to face.
Rev. Beverly Griffin Patton
Associated Minister
Rev. Beverly G. Patton is a native of Acworth, Georgia, and the daughter of the late Willis E. and Corrie (Rice) Griffin. She is the mother of one biological son, Vance Patton, and has helped in the raising and mentoring of many other children who affectionately call her “Aunt Bev.”
Rev. Patton accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age at Zion Hill – Acworth, where she has served as Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, Junior and Senior Usher Ministry, Junior Choir member, Youth Coordinator, and Church Clerk. She was licensed and ordained under the guidance and leadership of Rev. Dr. Frank W. Johnson, Jr.
She served as President of the Black Acworth Community Homecoming
for over 10 years, Vice-President of the Acworth Historic Preservation Committee, and ran for Acworth City Counsel in 1996. Rev. Patton retired from the U. S. Postal Service in 2008 after 25+years of service, and will retire from the Cobb County School District after 10+ years of service.
Educated in the Cobb County School system, she attended and graduated from North Cobb High School, and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. She later enrolled at Antioch Baptist Bible College where she received a
Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity, Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling, and Doctorate in Christian Education.
Rev. Beverly Patton’s two favorite Scriptures are Jeremiah 29:11 and
John 3:16. Her Ministry Scripture is Matthew 25:40; ‘And the King
will answer them, “I assure you: whatsoever you do for the least of
these my little children, you do it for me."
